Biography: I earned two college degrees so long ago there's not a thing I can remember. My real learning began while working as a therapist for about every form of bodily and mental 'imperfection' that can be experienced by children. That was back in the days when they were all 'lumped' together with various diagnosis/identity attached to them so 'we professionals' could pretend we knew what was going on in their psyche.
I learned how this synthetic identity affected their perception of the world. My goal was to have them express their true spirit. We played a lot because they had forgotten how to laugh. Using Gestalt techniques taught by Fritz Perls, I discovered in a more graphic way, the hidden aspects that drive experience. That's when I really began to understand the concept of projection of our unconscious.
As a result of what I learned from these children, plus being profoundly curious about life, I compiled my writings of many years into a book called Grains of Sand. It was completed in 1975.

The book has 36 pages of very large type saying, 'we come here wanting love forgetting we are love'.
In 1973, I met Jerry Jampolsky and Judy Skutch. In 1975 Judy brought a set of books called A Course in Miracles to the Bay Area where I was living. Helen, Bill and Ken soon followed to begin introducing the Course in the area. No one knew, especially Helen and Bill, that this was the beginning of a world wide phenomenon. Having met and observed this small group who had incredibly integrity, any concerns I had about the validity of what had been written, vanished.
