Overview: I am a grandmother of 4, two of which were "kidjacked" on 3/11/06, and are still in state custody, currently residing with my ex and his wife.
Biography: Although the children's father, (my son-in-law) WAS on drugs pretty badly, there was absolutely no physical/sexual abuse to those children. He was, however, verbally abusive and controlling to my daughter. They did not have a warrant to take the children, did not take them for any type of medical exam for TWO months, yet, stated they were in immediate "danger". It goes on and on, my daughter has NEVER been abusive, never taken drugs, doesn't smoke (anything), goes to church as did the children. We have a good family, and did nothing but love those children with all our hearts. Now, we sit and worry ourselves sick over them. My parents, in their mid-70's, have lived their lives for these children, and all of a sudden, they are taken away, and as of 8/2007, NONE of us are allowed to see them. The father has been incarcerated since 7/2006, he was given NO help, no services, their parental rights were terminated, and my daughter was told she would not be able to appeal. She immediately appealed the TPR decision after the 8/2007 hearing, and it finally reached appeals court 12/2007, so we are awaiting the results of this. This is just a brief overview of our situation. *Update* Appeal court affirmed with two judges dissenting vehemently, now the Supreme Court has been sent a brief asking them to review.
