First class . Thanks Desi - Reviewer: Baldbloke 08/22/09 06:20 PM EDT
Full Comment: Desi Serna communicates brilliantly. He doesn't just explain theory. He gives song examples of what he is explaining. Very down to earth. Come on Desi, I bought your book. Great stuff. Please can we have some more podcasts?

Desi is right! - Reviewer: farrister 10/23/08 05:35 AM EDT
Full Comment: Not only does he explain everything clearly and entertainingly with real song examples but he manages to cut through to what is really important. He's right - with pentatonic and major scales you can already make a quantum leap forward - more exotic scales can come later. If you learn a foreign language, the real objective is to communicate and you need enough grammar to be able to support that; with guitar Desi is spot on - the theory is important not for its own sake but in order to play real songs (others or your own). Highly recommended.

Excellent Teacher - Reviewer: ShaynSmith 09/23/08 02:26 PM EDT
Full Comment: I've ordered some books and dvds from Desi and am very impressed with how he easily explains some complex theory. Very example, I never really understood modes until I listened to his podcast and now it makes perfect sense. Desi is an excellent teacher and certainly knows his stuff. As someone who has been playing guitar for many years, I certainly have advanced my learning thanks to Desi. -Shayn

An Amazing Podcast for Guitar Theory - Reviewer: DragonFlame1990 07/13/07 01:10 PM EDT
Full Comment: Hello everyone, my name is Erik and I am 17 years old. I have been playing now for 3 months and 2 weeks, and I have been trying to find everything that I can (not costing me anything) that can further my guitar playing and maybe even make it into a future career of mine. Using Creatives Zencast (like a podcast but made by creative) I noticed your podcast and subscribed. I just downloaded your podcast for memorizing the fretboard, and at 1 a.m. I had time to listen to it LOL. I was shocked, everything he said made sense, and I woke right up, picked up my guitar, and tried everything he said. Mr. Serna made everything seem easier, and when I listened to how he said everything, songs started to come together, solos began to make more sense, and chord structure just made me think that construction was more than just putting your fingers on the fretboard. With Mr. Sernas podcast on introducing guitar theory, I first thought that guitar theory was not essential, and that if I wanted to look at it, meh, I'll wait a few years. But listening to Mr. Sernas podcast, everything started to seem more important, if I wanted to write a song, well not just a song, but a piece of work that touches the souls of the listener, and makes them really say, WOW, I discovered that guitar theory is essential in this process. What Mr. Serna makes sense, and it really opened my eyes to what music truely is, an art. I suggest that everyone register to this podcast, and listen to it when you have a time to spare. I am very excited to see what other podcasts Mr. Serna has in store for his listeners, and I can't wait to learn more of guitar with the knowledge, efficiency, and soul Mr. Serna provides. Cheers
