Alright podcast, but some inaccuracy in first episode - Reviewer: justwannaleavereview 12/19/11 10:45 AM EST
Full Comment: This seems to be an alright podcast, but in the first episode, the first host said that Macs do get viruses, just not as much as Windows. Just read this article: http://www.wilshipley.com/blog/2005/09/mac-os-x-viruses-put-up-or-shut-up.html " All, right, I'm sick of people reporting that Mac OS X is 'mostly' virus-free. It is, as far has been proven, ENTIRELY virus-free. Macs are not magical, and one day there will be virus that infects them. However, I don't think it's happened yet, and I think it's time we, the Mac community, started saying, "No, we don't have any viruses." " Also, the guy also mentioned how the Mac was first to fall in the CanSecWest contest Pwn2Own. Please read this article, which outlines several reasons why this contest is a farce: http://obamapacman.com/2010/03/pwn2own-hacking-contest-host-security-conference-cansecwest-partly-microsoft-sponsored/ Another article on Pwn2Own's uselessness as a gauge of security: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2010/03/27/cansecwest-security-competition-falsely-portrayed-again/ And another: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2008/03/29/mac-shot-first-10-reasons-why-cansecwest-targets-apple/ Sorry, the commenting system doesn't save my carriage returns, so the comment is kind of hard to read, but don't blame me.
